HQ AC Izmir's mission is to

Plan, execute and support air operations, as directed, up to a Major Joint Operation (MJO), in order to contribute to the deterrence of aggression and the preservation of peace, security and the territorial integrity of Alliance member states within and beyond NATO’s area of responsibility.

To provide NATO with a capable, agile and efficient HQ, able to deliver the full spectrum of NATO air power requirements whenever and wherever required, in support of Alliance interests.
